The WaterLex Legal Database brought together information about national and international water law, governance and policy. The data was partly crowd-sourced through an academic partnership network and partly obtained from the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization (FAOLEX Database) and other official bodies. The database was searchable by key word and could be filtered by country, region and/or type of document. For many countries, extracts from legislation were available, with links to the full text on national websites. There are also extracts and links for treaties, resolutions and other official documents. The database project was launched in 2012 and discontinued with the closing of WaterLex in January 2020.
