Welcome to the WaterLex Legal Database, which provides direct access to legal and political sources on the human right to water and sanitation: International Conventions, National Strategies, National Policies, National Law, and Political Declarations (UN resolutions).
The WaterLex Legal Database has been designed as an evolving tool, based on iterative review and providing up-to-date information. It aims at bridging the information gap by providing all water governance actors with access to international and country-specific legal frameworks which are aligned with and contribute to the realization of the human right to water and sanitation.
To refine your search by specific criteria, please use our Advanced Search option.
The WaterLex Legal Database was officially launched at the 6th World Water Forum in Marseille, where it gained recognition as a key solution for water actors: watch the video here! (under Solutions)
WaterLex follows on from COHRE’s work on water and sanitation.
Software development and data indexing are ongoing processes. Please check regularly our Database to benefit from the latest updates.
