Membership

WaterLex members are selected for their expertise or professional experience in academic, public service, diplomatic, private and non-profit sectors, and they bring a breadth of specific expertise in water law, governance and human rights.  In return, WaterLex shares information on new research and programmes in the field of human rights to water and sanitation and involves members in events, research programmes and workshops. A select group of members are actively involved in the WaterLex Scientific Committee.

WaterLex membership is open to everyone, at the discretion of the Board, according to the following criteria:

  1. For individuals with an outstanding professional record in promoting and implementing human rights-based water governance
  2. For individuals with limited working experience, but who have volunteered with WaterLex and proven commitment to implementing human rights-based water governance.

In both cases, written recommendations are sent from staff members to the Board, through the Director General. If you would like to join our membership, please speak to one of our team as a first point of call.
