Promoting the Human Rights to Water and Sanitation on Human Rights Day

WaterLex was at the Future of Human Rights Forum held in Geneva on 10 December 2013 to present its activities undertaken to develop sustainable solutions based on human rights to improve water governance worldwide.

WaterLex notably showcased its latest publications:
1. “A Human Rights-Based Approach to Tackling Corruption in the Water Sector” (WIN/WaterLex Water Integrity Brief)
2. “Towards a Human Rights-Based Water Governance: Challenges for the post 2015 Thematic Consultations on Water” (Hungarian Deputy Commissioner for Fundamental Rights/WaterLex)

These resources are available for download on WaterLex Publications webpage.

At the occasion of Human Rights Day 2013, WaterLex would like to emphasise on the necessity to integrate a single water objective in the post 2015 agenda aiming at: ensuring a universal access to drinking water and sanitation while progressively eliminating inequalities; improving mechanisms of integrated water resources management; and improving wastewater management as indispensable elements for sustainable development and poverty alleviation.
