
WaterLex Becomes a UN-Water Partner
Promoting the Human Rights-Based Approach to Water Governance at UN-Level
At the occasion of the 2013 World Water Week, WaterLex has become an official Partner of UN-Water, the United Nations inter-agency coordination mechanism for all freshwater- and sanitation-related matters.
UN-Water was created in 2003 to increase coordinated action and coherence amongst all UN water-related institutions, in particular towards the implementation of the Millennium Developments Goals and Rio+20 sustainable development agenda. It currently comprises 31 UN-system Members and 34 partner organisations.
UN-Water’s portfolio encapsulates freshwater resources, sanitation, and water-related disasters and emergencies.
